What things do you find hard to accept in life? There are many times we may face situations we’re not happy about.

First we may get angry about the situation. We may feel hurt, disappointed, and life is unfair. Why is this happening to me?

Second we resist the changes, and bargain. We try to talk someone out of leaving us, or trying to get out of having to personally grow and adjust our approach to the situation. We may want to avoid doing what we must do.

Third we will get get sad. At this point we may swing to much in the worry and negative self-talk and battle with negative feedback from others. We may argue with ourselves silently and become even angrier. Depression will set in to a certain extent.

Fourth we are faced with the fact we have to accept the situation “As is”. What do we have to accept?

We may have to accept: 1. Disabilities or chronic illness 2. Economy 3. Changes in the world in technology, education, training, and communication to survive in a job and finances. 4. There are different beliefs globally. Religion/Spiritual Communities, Political Communities, Cultural Communities, The Scientific and Philosophical World. 5. Life is unfair. We’re not all born into the same social class, race, culture, education, and finances. 6. We live in a world of duality. Some people are compassionate, empathetic, understanding and loving. On the opposite end of the spectrum there are people who are not concerned about your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. There are some who do harm more than good. 7. Chaos and confusion and conflict is necessary to evolve ourselves and press for change in the world. 8. Personal and spiritual growth is necessary to be successful. 9. Some people will love us and others will dislike us. 10. Letting go is necessary for us to grieve and heal. Also to move forward in life.

This again is just a short list of things we have to learn to accept about life. Many times we would like to try to control the outcome, but some things we can’t change or control.

We only have power to control what’s in front of us today and with what resources are available at this point in time.

Acceptance is a huge part of growth and understanding when it comes to the world and others, the only thing we have control of is our own thoughts, feelings, and emotions. We have control over what we do and how we take appropriate action to succeed.
